Music I listen to

Blues, Classic Rock, some current pop. Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, etc:

TV shows I watch

Travel, History, National Geographic, Discovery, Learning Chanel, Spike, Turner Movie Classics, TNT, FX (Nip/Tuck, Dirt, Rescue Me, etc). Not into sitcoms, reality show crap, game shows, or anything on usual prime time.

Movies I like

Classic movies are the best. Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns. B&W movies- do they still have any more of those that were not colorized?

:-( Any good quality story is a great movie.

People I look up to

Indian Larry. RIP. He was great at what he did with motorcycle building. His legacy lives on even today:

Clint Eastwood (man with no name spaghetti westerns)- I've always enjoyed his cool outlook and seemingly perfect things to say and do in those movies.

Curly from 3 Stooges (nyuk, nyuk, why soitenly),

My grandfather- Born and raised in old Russia, then migrated to the USA via China and the Phillapines. I thought this guy would live forever. And he almost did, well, 98yrs worth. He was 65yrs old when I was born and lived with us the whole time. Not having a dad at home, he filled in some of what was missing from that paternal influence. His calm demeanor, his joking attitude and his beaming smile is permanently imprinted in me. Lots more about him I remember and hold onto always:

Books that moved me

Magazines: Hot Bike, American Iron, V-Twin, Easyriders, In the Wind, and other most motorcycle magazines.

Interesting facts about me

Primary interest: Harleys, the ones I've owned are blue. I like blue. I like blues music too. "What can ya do, with the color blue, it's so true, when it runs deep inside of you". Only had 3 Harleys in my life: 1977 Sportster, 2000 Heritage, and 2008 ElectraGlide Classic. Each have their own personalities, and each have given me their own set of memories from riding in the wind:

Long journeys, long hours spent in the saddle, enjoying long roads less traveled, following the pavement to the horizon. Slicing through the scenery of nature, listening to the wind and hearing the rumble of the steel horse- at times I wonder to myself, is there anything better than this? Nothing beats mountainous curved roads, forests with trees all around:

The desert and wide open areas- where the sun bakes all to subtle obedience, where the spirit of the wind whistles and sings-this invites me to dance with it:

Ocean beaches have a primeval attraction with rocky slopes and relentless energy, inviting me with the cool breeze and the scent of the surf.

Bike rallies are like meccas of the biker world, inviting a collection of all types to a single location, sometimes overwhelming the amenities of those locations. But to attend, to laugh and have fun, to sit and watch the bikes and people, are all part of the satisfaction: image

Oh give me a home, where the buffalos roam, and the deer and the antelope play.... Motorcycle camping makes it appear in many ways like a roaming cowboy pioneering the wild lands of existence, enjoying a nice quiet evening under some trees and the stars.

Give me a full tank of gas and point me in a direction, I'll be gone. Sometimes it takes a full tank of gas to think straight. 12hrs and 600 miles later, it will be a different world each and every time.

It's not the destination, but the journey. The red lines are my journeys. Is it half full? I see it as many more places that I need to go and see and ride thru. I hope to have the health and time to be able to explore more. Life doesn't wait, have to live it now!

Anybody who owns a Harley knows that taking the bike in for service at a dealer can be a dent on the wallet each and every time, so I do most of my own maintenance. Give me a service manual and a parts catalog and I'm good.

Sit me in front of a computer I can sit for hours. If I'm not out cruising the highways, then I can be browsing the internet superhighway, or lost in a computer graphics project of humor or fantasy. Computers; computer graphics- renderings, simulations, animations, artwork.

Long hours are spent in the garden during growing season because it's like a mellow solitary time that's great for de-stressing.

Groovy quotes

Keep it in the wind!
Enjoy your ride at any speed!
Ride safe!
If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride!
Sometimes it takes a full tank of gas to think straight.
Sunshine on chrome is the best alarm clock.
12hrs and 600 miles later, it will be a different world each and every time.
